By analyzing 119 communities through surveys, drone surveys, and in-depth interviews, the research has shed light on how football fields shape the space and collective life of these peoples.Â
The findings indicate that the football field is not simply an area for sport, but a true focal point of community organization. Its location directly influences the layout of dwellings and the network of paths that crisscross the village.Â
Furthermore, match days represent social events of primary importance. These moments of aggregation strengthen existing bonds between residents and build bridges with neighboring communities, fostering exchange and socialization.Â
The impact of football also extends to the local economy. Matches stimulate the trade of both artisanal and industrial products, creating an unexpected economic dynamism.Â
Beyond the recreational aspect, the study highlights how football plays an educational role and promotes socio-spatial integration, especially within protected areas. It thus becomes a tool for cohesion and informal learning for new generations.Â
An emblematic example of this phenomenon is the football field in Xixuaú. Images of this place show how ecotourists and members of the local community, including children, men, and women, come together to share moments of sport and joy. In this context, football manifests itself as an element of unity and intercultural exchange.Â
Ultimately, this research demonstrates that in the Amazon, football transcends its definition as a simple sport. It is configured as a fundamental cultural element, a pillar of community identity, and an engine of social organization.Â
